A → A [2026]
For the work ‘From A to A’ Pum van de Koppel directs his gaze towards his fellow citizens. In the video-installation they are continuously rushing around Dutch railway stations, on the run as if cast in a plotless action movie, already past the awkwardness of poor acting. Their departure and arrival are left out of frame. A climax slips through our fingers with an ongoing stream of running travellers, and it is now the everyday stunt work that deserves full attention.

Voor het werk ‘Van A naar A’ richt Pum van de Koppel zijn blik op de medeburger. Die haast zich in de video-installatie onophoudelijk de Nederlandse treinstations door, on the run als een acteur in een actiefilm zonder plot, de schaamte van slecht acteerwerk voorbij. Vertrek en aankomst blijven buiten beeld. Via een stroom van rennende mensen glipt een ontknoping steeds door onze vingers, waardoor juist het alledaagse gestuntel de verdiende aandacht krijgt.
